Cheryl McCarthy

Cheryl McCarthy was appointed as Commissioner of the Financial Supervisory Commission in October 2020.

Cheryl has been with the Commission since 2016 as Deputy Commissioner and brings with her a broad range of legal and policy experience. She hopes to bring a particular focus to modernising the regulatory framework to better provide for the increasing digitisation of financial services and financial technology. She also would like the Commission to play a more active role in promoting awareness and education to the Cook Islands community about the benefits and risks of financial products to assist them in making better informed choices for their finances.
