VACANCY: HEAD OF THE FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE UNIT
The Board of the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) is seeking an individual to fill the position of the Head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). The FSC is an independent Crown agency established under the Financial Supervisory Commission Act 2003. The FIU is a separate unit within the FSC.
The FIU administers legislation covering the prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of money laundering, the financing of terrorism and other serious financial offences in the Cook Islands. The position of the Head of the FIU requires a person with: sound experience in anti-money laundering operations and financial crime investigations; an understanding of the regional and international anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing obligations; strong teamwork and management capabilities; good IT skills and an ability to work cross-culturally. Speaking Cook Islands Maori will be an advantage.
The salary package offered will depend on skills and experience and relocation assistance is available for a successful overseas applicant.
