Supervision of Insurers, Insurance Intermediaries and Captive Insurers
All insurers, insurance intermediaries and captive insurers carrying on business in or from the Cook Islands are subject to the provisions of Insurance Act 2008 and Captive Insurance Act 2013 respectively.
Certain exemptions operate for global insurance policies that cover risks located in the Cook Islands. Please refer to the Insurance Act and the Insurance Regulations 2009 for further details of these and all other exemptions
It is an offence for an unlicensed person or entity to carry on insurance business in the Cook Islands.
